What We Do
We work closely with a number of agencies, and we sit on a number of committees. These include the DWI, DEFRA, Future Homes Hub, Future Water and Wessex Water. We lobby and represent the industry in every way we can.
Influence National Policy and Regulation
As a full UK WRA member, your company will gain a direct voice in shaping the UK’s water reuse legislation, standards and guidance. The Association works closely with Defra, Ofwat, the Environment Agency, DLUHC, and industry bodies to ensure that members’ expertise informs future regulations. We also have held open days in UK and Welsh parliaments
Be Part of the 2030 Water Reuse Roadmap
Members contribute to the UK WRA’s aspiration of embedding water reuse into the UK’s water resilience strategy by 2030. By joining, your company will help to develop the frameworks and pilot projects that will make reuse a mainstream feature of housing, industry and infrastructure. This will create new business opportunities along the way.
Shape Technical Standards and Best Practice
The UK WRA leads the development of technical guidelines and design standards for greywater, rainwater and industrial reuse systems. Membership allows companies to share expertise, review standards and ensure that practical experience from the field is reflected in national codes and Building Regulations.
Raise Your Profile
Membership demonstrates your organisation’s commitment to sustainability, innovation and water stewardship. UK WRA members are profiled in association communications, featured in case studies, and invited to speak at roundtable meetings and parliamentary events. We have social media feeds and a busy website which your company will be featured on.
Access Market Intelligence and Industry Insights
Through The UK WRA’s briefings, webinars and working groups, members receive early insight into emerging policy changes and research findings. This includes access to members only updates. Water scarcity is one of the UK’s top five climate risks. Joining The UK WRA ensures your company stays ahead of policy, regulation and market shifts that will make water reuse a legal requirement and a business necessity by 2030.
Collaborate, Innovate, and Network
You will be joining a growing community of manufacturers, consultants, developers, utilities and sustainability leaders working to deliver reuse solutions at every scale.
Contribute to a National Communications Movement
The UK WRA partners with Waterwise and other agencies to deliver public education and awareness campaigns on water reuse and conservation. Members can contribute stories and case studies that showcase how innovation in their sector supports the UK’s Net Zero and water resilience goals. The UK WRA also runs its own Water Reuse Week
