As we look back on the past year at the UK Water Reuse Association, it has been a busy and positive one! We have enjoyed lots of good conversations and growing interest in water reuse.
A real highlight was Water Reuse Week, with events held in both the UK Parliament and the Welsh Parliament. These sessions gave us the chance to talk directly with people who shape policy and decisions, and to explain why water reuse matters for the future. The level of interest was very encouraging.
We also brought members together in person in Wales, with a meeting held at Cardiff Castle. It was an opportunity to have discussions, share ideas and strengthen relationships in a more informal setting.
This year also saw the launch of our new website, which has already led to an increase in enquiries. More organisations and individuals are getting in touch to find out what water reuse is, how it works and how they can get involved.
Throughout the year, we have worked closely with partners across the sector and had many useful and productive discussions. We have also seen new member enquiries coming in.
We have had some very positive meetings, including with Lee Pitcher MP, and we’re already looking ahead to plans for 2026.
Early in the New Year, we plan to have a stall in the marketplace in the Welsh Parliament, giving us another chance to speak to people face to face. We are also hoping to have a roundtable with the Water Minister in the UK Parliament.
Overall, the past year has shown that more people want to be part of the conversation about how we use and reuse water in a sensible and sustainable way.
